Honesty means simply, stating facts and views as best one truly believes them to be. It includes both honesty to others, and to oneself and about ones own motives and inner reality. We understand that we cannot be honest with others if we are not honest with ourselves. If we are not truthful with ourselves about our unhealthy behaviors and actions, we cannot possibly acknowledge them and work on change for the better.
Being honest with one another at Ten Links allows true caring and assistance to take place. We rely on each other to give real and honest feedback. We have spent many years lying to ourselves and others about our actions and behaviors when it comes to weight related issues. This is a trusting environment where we can let down all guards and be open and honest about everything without fear of judgement or ridicule.
